With your kind support and valuable contribution, the First Conference of the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Forum (BRITACOF) closed with rich achievements on April 20th, 2019, in Wuzhen, China. Heads and representatives of tax administrations or finance departments from 85 jurisdictions, 16 international organizations, and a number of academic institutions and businesses participated in this significant event, during which the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (BRITACʘM) was officially launched, and the Wuzhen Statement and the Wuzhen Action Plan (2019-2021) were adopted.
I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to you and to your esteemed agency. I am grateful to you for traveling all the way to Wuzhen and to the tax authorities, international organizations or research institutions that you represent for the strong support for the BRITACOF. Despite of economic and cultural differences, valuable consensus was reached on strengthening BRI tax administration cooperation and building a growth-friendly tax environment. The First BRITACOF Conference would not have been such a success without your active participation and generous contribution and sharing of experiences, and you are the witness, participant and contributor of such a historical event.
Inspired by your contribution to the success of the First BRITACOF Conference, we believe that the collaborative spirit will endure, and we look forward to broader cooperation amongst BRITACʘM stakeholders in future. Once we agree, we will deliver. Let us join hands and work towards a greater future of international tax cooperation, and ultimately contribute to the growth of the regional and global economy.
With kind regards,
LIAO Tizhong
Executive Secretary of the BRITACʘM
Director General of the International Taxation Department
