The Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Capacity Enhancement Group (BRITACEG) successfully conducted a Seminar on Tax Administration and Digitalization from 24th to 30th November in Yangzhou. The event, organized by the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Academy•Yangzhou (BRITA•Yangzhou), brought together 27 tax officials from 11 jurisdictions, including Bangladesh, Georgia, Mongolia, Maldives, Sierra Leone, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, China, and Macao, China.
The seminar featured in-depth training sessions led by experts from BRITA•Yangzhou, the Tax and Information Technology Administration Department, the Tax Big Data and Risk Management Bureau and the E-Tax Management Center of State Taxation Administration of China, and the International Relations Institute of China Foreign Affairs University. These experts provided comprehensive overviews on the Belt and Road Initiative, its implementation strategies, China's taxation system and reform direction, as well as the enhancement of tax administration systems. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, sharing experiences and insights into their respective tax systems and the digitalization of tax administration, promoting mutual learning and cross-jurisdictional exchanges.
Additionally, the seminar included visits to the Jiangsu Smart Taxation Experience Center and the tax service hall of Guangling District in Yangzhou City. These site visits offered participants practical insights into the advanced intelligent taxation services in China and showcased the country's accomplishments in smart taxation construction and tax service delivery.
This year has been a productive one for BRITACEG, with over 50 training sessions conducted both online and offline, benefiting more than 2,000 tax officials from BRI countries and regions. This reflects BRITACEG's commitment to strengthening tax administration capabilities globally.
